It's here...
The Until Dawn: Last Light book trailer is complete and available for viewing on YouTube! Already getting some great feedback from readers. I have to say, I'm quite excited with how it turned out. Spread the word, the endless night is here...
Now, the question I'm getting is, "how does a book trailer get an author more sales and/or attention?"
Well, by creating a video, you are stepping into new territory. YouTube isn't a place that most authors get to advertise on because, well, creating a trailer for a book isn't exactly easy to do. I find that the best part of a book trailer is that you are giving people a visual of what your book is about. Some people need to "see" what a book is about to decide if they want to purchase it. I've already had sales since posting the youtube link late last night. Was it worth the work? If my readers enjoy it, then yes. I had one reader this morning message me to tell me that she loved it so much, she watched it three times.
Would I recommend other authors make a book trailer for their books? If they can find the video clips or images to do so, then yes. I used Windows Movie Maker for mine and finished it in a little over a day. If you have any questions about trailer making, please post a comment below and I'll do my best to help!

The Domino Effect...
The Domino Effect: The cumulative effect that results when one event precipitates a series of like events.
(Dictionary.com)
Yesterday, I was contacted by a high school aged reader from Missouri named Sierra. She wanted to tell me that her mom had bought Until Dawn: Last Light on it's release date. Sierra explained to me that her mom couldn't put the book down and kept ranting and raving about how good she thought it was. I, of course, was flattered by this, but Sierra wasn't done with her story.
She continued on to tell me that she was so intrigued by her mom's response to the book that when her mom left for work, she took her mom's kindle and read through the first couple of chapters. She was hooked. When her best friend called, Sierra told her how great she thought the book was. Her best friend went straight on to Amazon.com and purchased a copy for her iPhone. Again, flattered and so happy to find that Until Dawn: Last Light was captivating readers as I'd hoped it would. Still, Sierra wasn't finished with her story.
Her best friend called her back shortly after to tell her how much she loved the book. The two girls went on to discuss what they thought about it and talked about where each of them were in the story and so on and so forth. Apparently, Sierra's best friend had also told a couple of her friends about the book and they also went to purchase it and the dominos kept falling...
The reason Sierra had contacted me was that she wanted me to know that by Monday, I should expect all of her classmates to have purchased the book. Thank you, Sierra!
I thank God for the domino effect and for amazing readers that share these stories with me, and who share Until Dawn: Last Light with those around them. I feel incredibly blessed by this. You guys make this all possible. Best readers in the world!
Don't forget, you can purchase your copy of Until Dawn: Last Light on Amazon.com for your Kindle, PC or smart phone for only $2.99.

When darkness falls, whose side will you be on?
For the past six years, Zoë has been anything but “normal.” Struggling to accept her immortality, she finds herself thrown into a war that’s been waging in the shadows for over a thousand years. Zoë must now become who she was meant to be, joining the other Chosen to save what’s left of humanity.
When the endless night falls over the Earth, will she be able to save the one man who reminds her what it is to be human or will it be too late?

The day I've been dreaming about for so long is finally here. Until Dawn: Last Light is now available on Amazon!
I was asked today by numerous followers and readers if I was excited about the release of my first full-length novel. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely excited for the big release, but it's still a little surreal. I've been racing toward this dream for a long time, it's just hard to believe that I'm already here. I guess the dream never really ends, though. On to the next book in the Until Dawn series, Into the Dark, which will be release in 2012. I'll have more on that at a later date.
I wanted to throw out a big THANK YOU to all of my readers and followers who have been so kind as to retweet, praise and review Last Light. The number of kind messages that I've received so far today has been so great. You are all so encouraging and uplifting! I feel beyond blessed right now.
If you're looking for a new book to add to your collection, please feel free to download the free sample from Amazon for Until Dawn: Last Light, available now! I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Here are what some readers are already saying about the book:
"This riveting page turner invaded my thoughts and emotions from the moment I picked it up! I did NOT want it to end! Each chapter left me on the edge of my seat, wanting more. One of the things I loved most about this book is the fact that the underlying spiritual tones are still there, but they are presented in such a way that anyone can dive into it and immediately become immersed in Zoe's world. It goes without saying that I can't wait for the sequel, because if it's anything like this first one, I'll probably devour it all in one night, and then curse myself for not making it last longer. Until Dawn will not disappoint!"
"Until Dawn: Last Light is a whirlwind story that transports you to another place, and makes you wish you could stay there. I became enraptured with Zoe, her friends, and her enemies right off the bat. As you get to know them, they invite you to struggle with them, laugh with them, and share in their victories and pain. Zoe's world only exists in our imaginations, but somehow she manages to reach out and touch my everyday thoughts, hopes, and dreams. The bottom line, is that when I started reading, I simply could not stop. I dare you to try, but good luck, because once Zoe introduces herself to you, you won't ever want to say goodbye."
"Jennifer Simas does a wonderful job of telling this story, keeping the reader in suspense. She does a fantastic job of giving flashbacks with the perfect amount of information without revealing too much insight too early. Until Dawn will keep you reading all night!!!"
"Fans of The Twilight Saga will go crazy for Until Dawn: Last Light!"
If you've read Until Dawn: Last Light, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Amazon reviews are always appreciated. Thanks again, everyone!!!
